Tulsi Pooja Diwas 2023

In the Hindu calendar, Tulsi Diwas is a day set aside for the adoration of Goddess Tulsi. In Hinduism, tulsi is one of the most revered plants. On this auspicious day, people worship Tulsi Mata by lighting earthen lamps, making prayers, and requesting the goddess’ blessings.

This day, December 25, 2023, is Chaturdashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha.
This year, Chaturdashi Tithi begins at 05:55 AM on December 25, 2023. It expires at 5:47 AM on December 26, 2023. On this day, people also plant Tulsi saplings at home, which is seen as fortunate.
Lord Shaligram is traditionally positioned next to the tulsi plant. It’s often accepted that this is not the day to harvest tulsi leaves.

Using desi ghee to light a diya, devotees offer prayers to the deity. In addition, shringar, garlands, and candies are provided. On this day, tulsi plants are also donated to temples.

Devotees up early on this holy day. After bathing, they light a diya next to the Tulsi plant and then give it water. Walking around the Tulsi plant seven times is one of the key rituals. People present Goddess Tulsi with flowers, candy, and garlands. Depending on the desires of the devotee, goods from the Shringar collection may comprise bangles, saree, dupatta, vermillion, or any type of silver adornment.

Subsequently, individuals repeat mantras and perform Aartis in an attempt to invoke the Goddess’ graces.
